How to run a great Meeting
Having a solid, well-organized agenda is a great start - but the real magic happens when you use it during the meeting, not just before.
Here are some simple tips to make sure your agenda stays front and center, from kickoff to wrap-up:
Stick to the agenda
Your agenda is your game plan - don’t just let it sit in the background. Try to follow it in order and avoid jumping around. It helps everyone stay focused on what matters most.
Respect your timeboxes
A little small talk at the start? Totally fine - and even encouraged! Just give it a time limit (3–5 minutes is perfect).
Save the deep dives into Halloween costumes or holiday stories for after, so you can stay on track and hit your meeting goals.
Assign a note taker
At the beginning of the meeting, choose someone (or use an AI Tool) to capture key takeaways - like questions, feedback, action items, and ideas. By using a tool like Google Gemini, meeting notes are attached to the event, so everything’s in one place and easy to track.
Follow up after the meeting
Any action items should be sent out shortly after the meeting.
Be sure to include:
-
Decisions that were made
-
Action items with owners and due dates
-
Any unanswered questions to follow up on
